CrossFit is bar none the best fitness program in the world today! It is for all sized and shaped people with a common goal. Getting fitter. General public, fitness enthusiasts and athletes. If you haven’t tried it please head to your nearest CrossFit and give it a go. All the instructors are great people and will help you every step of the way. It will literally change your life for the better!

CrossFit is a type of training that makes life easier. No joke, you will be fitter for life. Lifting things, injury prevention, moving around, flexibility, it has it all.

Then there is competitive CrossFit which is a sport. And like most sport it that has an off season and competition dates to peak for. I believe you should have a different training approach.

CrossFit for competitive CrossFitters needs a specific approach. Doing the daily WOD will not get you to a competitive level on it’s own. You need to work on weaknesses and depending on the areas you lack in should dictate how you prioritize your training. Some say that if you lack in a certain component of fitness just put more emphasis into that area during your WOD.

Example: If your strength is lacking then you should not worry about speed during the WOD and just move the heaviest weight possible.

Sure that will work but its not the most efficient or fastest way. Using the ‘Sweep Method’ you can target your main weaknesses and get them up to speed so that you are a well rounded CrossFitter with good general physical preparedness come competition time.
